Formatting WMV Captions

Hello,

I am new to this forum and hoping this is the right one for this topic.

I've been working with Vegas for a number of years (VPro8 currently) and have used the subtitling available in DVDA, but recently need to produce WMV output with captions and have had only marginal success. The WMV video with captions will be used on the web and in a Powerpoint slideshow.

In VPro8 help, it says under "Adding Closed Captioning"; "You can easily create captioning markers from a spreadsheet or other tab-delimited format." - so I built a spreadsheet of the commands from the regions already defined for DVDA and pasted the rows and columns (as described) into the "Edit Details" interface as Commands.

VPro8 Help reference (thaks to Nate P at SonyMediaSoftware Customer Support): mk:@MSITStore:C:\Program%20Files\Sony\Shared%20Plug-Ins\Help%20Files\vegas80.chm::/Closed_Captioning.htm

I also found that some of the SAMI HTML Markup Tags can be included at the start and end of the parameter string and Windows Media Player will interpret them correctly - like <center><big>string</big></center> will center & bold "string" in big text, but how do you use <font> and <basefont> to modify font type and size??

SAMI HTML Markup Tags reference:

Any thoughts or help will be appreciated.
