Forum admin - we appreciate your presence.

I just wanted to acknowledge our Forum Admin and welcome the input. I've seen several posts in the last few days and I hope I speak for everyone in saying it means a lot to hear from you. I appreciate the open forum you've provided for users but I hope you know that when you choose to make an appearance and communicate to us, we are eagerly listening. A lot of us feel we need you here more often.

Sincere thanks,

Larry

And to forum users, just a thought - I see at least one instance in the last few days where the Admin posed a question to a user in hopes of solving a problem. The user did not respond. If you post, try to follow up. We're getting communication directly from SCS and it would be nice to keep the flow going.

Just a suggestion.

Add me to the list of those who appreciate the Forum Administrator's participation recently.

That goes a long way in making software users feel that SCS cares about them.

So thanks

John

Ditto to everthing John (craftech) and others have said.

It would probably be of assurance to many people if the presence was more continual and regular.

But equally, it could easily distract a SCS engineer on a full-time basis, getting caught up in semantics and debate.

+5 from me too.

PS: Hope that "some" people will keep the discussions technical and giving to us all - and not the frequently seen "toddler-with-a-wet-diaper" whining.
Anyone feeling offended may flame at will.

big hug from downunder - but please, don't take that the wrong way ;-)

I'll add my voice to the mix here. The occasional post by ForumAdmin is comforting even if he/she doesn't respond to every thread. At least we know that someone from SCS is reading our posts.

I'd say it's a step in the right direction, more steps are needed.
Perhaps more of a backstep really, Peter (SonyPCH) used to be quite active and take a genuine interest in ideas and ask questions. He also seemed pretty flame proof, I think he understood that creative people are also creative with language and can be highly strung.
As for it distracting engineers from their work, Peter did what he did in his own time which added further to the feeling that he was part of the community, kudos from me for his devotion More joining him would be fantastic.

I agree also. But I think most people are not possibly aware that being a forum moderator/troubleshooter may not be part of the said persons job description and they perform this duty because of dedication.

I'm glad to be of assistance. Like most of you, I love Vegas and use it for my creative work. I've picked up a lot of tips about the world outside Vegas from you all, so I should thank you as well.

I generally will comment on threads that deal with a specific issue, wherein enough detailed information is provided about the issue that we can reproduce it and address it. I'd say this works well for all of us. Nonetheless, if you run into a problem, please do submit it to technical support so that we can be sure to get it on record. Creating a thread in the forums, or replying to an existing thread, doesn't guarantee that we're aware of it.

A round of applause for Paddy....

Allow me to thank you again (thats twice today!) Paddy for at least communicating with us and even better - resolving issues in v11.
We all know things could be better, and i have suggested in another thread ways this could be improved. However - this is certainly appreciated here and has to be going in the right direction. We love Vegas, and we dont want to see bugs and being informed of its progress really helps. I hope thats fair to say without trying to speak for everyone, which of course i cannot.
More comms please, even if the news isnt good. You have great client base here, its strong, with a heck of a lot of passion. Send that message to your MD.
Bugs and lack of feedback about them is damaging - that needs addressing, and you coming on here DOES help address that.

cheers!
Paul.

@Paddy:

Would it be possible to put a sticky at the top of the forum that points directly to the tech support trouble ticket? That would ensure that people with issues have an easy way to report them.

TIA,

Definitely appreciate your presence Paddy!

This is great feedback, and knowing bugs are confirmed and a fix is on the way is a relief.

There is something about effort that even trumps success. It is so good to have you here Paddy. There is a world of difference between "this software is really good" and "this software is really good except for this one (rather major) thing". SCS has the bases loaded. Let's bring the boys home!
