Well if people put their email addresses, oh hang on you mean Post veggies?
Maybe they could keep it somewhere separate, just so this forum didn't end up to cluttered like some. But apart from that I'm all for it, having everything in the one place makes a lot of sense.
Aside from the potential clutter, there are some legal issues as well. That alone, was a main driving reason behind why we set up the sharing site the way we did on our side. Additionally, I'm sure there are concerns about virus, etc being passed. One of the larger web communities I belong to recently quit allowing emails other than text-based, because of some scumbags sending virus' and spam/adware through their system.
As it is, I think the fact that this site is the *only* community Sony allows to exist would suggest it's at least marginally precarious as to what they'll allow.
"Aside from the potential clutter, there are some legal issues as well.
What about "other" sites that do host veggies? What are the legal things there then?
Yeah, the virus thing - bummer!
"As it is, I think the fact that this site is the *only* community Sony allows to exist would suggest it's at least marginally precarious as to what they'll allow." - I don't understand?
I'd go further and suggest it's in some respects amazing that it's still here period.
This is to the best of my knowledge the only forum owned and operated by Sony and it's not unimaginable that the overlords do look in here from time to time. Even if they don't certainly if it caused anything that bought the Sony name into disrepute I think it'd be gone in a flash.
Not that I think veg files are any too likely to create too much grief or are they?
A veg file can contain text, I could use one to send a not obvious message, I could use one to create all sorts of images using generated media. It's a sad comment that we've got to consider all the ways things can be abused but there you go.
All that aside is it that much of a burden to email someone asking for their email address and then email them the file?
And there are other sites for sharing veg files.
