Four affordable HD cameras compared

DV.com has published an article by Adam Wilt in which he and others gathered to compare four affordable HD cameras. The test subjects were: the Canon XL H1, JVC GY-HD100U, Panasonic AG-HVX200, and the Sony HVR-Z1U. They also compared them to two "real" HD camcorders: the Panasonic HDC27F Varicam and the Sony HDW-F900/3 CineAlta.

Very interesting reading...

In amongst Adam's technical stuff there's a tidbit about how they conducted the resolution tests which explains something I've sort of noticed. A slowly panned shot seems to have more resolution than an static one and now I have a technical explaination of why it happens.
The rest of it highlights the obvious, how you use the camera is way more important than the camera.

I KNEW there was a REASON that giggle cam was so popular. Blair Witch was ON to something. Or taking something, I don't know what.
