Frame Accurate Print to tape with Sony GVD1000 miniDV VTR?

Does anyone know if it is possible to do frame accurate print to tape using the NTSC version of the Sony GVD1000 miniDV vtr?

When the print to tape dialg box comes up, the auto-deck control option is greyed out (I can only choose manual)...it doesn't let me enter in the timecode I want to print at.

I can print to tape manually just fine (e.g. hit the record button myself)...but I need to be able to insert sections at specific timecodes and manual just doesn't give me that control.

Ironically, batch capture is frame accurate with the device and works perfectly in VV3...just can't figure what I'm doing wrong on the print to tape dialog box. Anyone have ideas?

Thank you!

Unfortunately, glitch free insert editing using OHCI deck control is not possible in any app. For that, you need serial deck control.

ahh...thanks for the info.

overlooking the "frame accurate" need - does vegas video recognize the sony gvd1000 at all for print to tape? (e.g. automating the print to tape vs. manual)?

thanks!!

We have not tested this deck internally, so I cannot confirm or deny. But, worst case scenario, you will have to manually press the "record" button on the deck after timeline prep.
