Frame flickering

I have a big problem with the rendering of videos shot with my Nikon 1 j3. I try to render with the Internet HD 1080p template (under MainConcept AVC/AAC), but the result is just disastrous and nothing I do makes it any better. It seem like it's jumping back and forth between frames and I've tried to google this so much but obviously doing it wrong because I can't find any answers to this.

The original video is 1920x1080x24 and has 59 fps ("double ntsc"), and uses codec H.264. What do I need to do to render such a video in best possible quality for web (youtube) usage?

No expert, but you should find a check-box that says "Match Media settings" (or similar) - this should give you the next-best results.
Perhaps you can say if the playback is from the Rendered Movie using yr PC . . . or a TV... and is this TV suitable for NTSC.?
( in the UK, I stick with 50Hz/PAL)

Assuming your source material is interlaced the problem could possibly be that it is being read in the wrong order. Try altering the field order in your source material Properties - Media tab.

When using 60p (59.94 fps) clips in a 30p or 24p timeline, you need to click with the opposite button on each clip, select 'properties' and then select 'disable resample'. 60p footage will try to blend two frames together for each final frame in a 30p project and multiple frames some of the time in a 24p project. When you select 'disable resample' it picks one of the two frames and throws out the second keeping it from ghosting and dancing back and forth.

Cheers,
Pete

1. Match Media Settings. This is a SPECIFIC procedure!
2. Render at precisely the same frame rate your video was shot.
