Frame rate in trimmer

Why am I suddenly having trouble? :-)

OK - I have captured 1350 clips with Vegas' capture utility. It was set to PAL DV at 25 fps.

The clips play fine in the trimmer and on the timeline. The timeline shows 25 fps. The project is set to 25 fps. In the media pool the clip's properties show PAL DV and 25 fps. But once I put them in the trimmer I notice it's showing timecode at 30 fps. I guess it doesn't really matter as it goes onto the timeline at 25 fps, but it's still weird. I can't find trimmer properties anywhere?

Cheers

The only thing I could think of is that because the Trimmer, like Explorer is an unbuffered playback, something is reading strange in your system. When I load up PAL footage to the Trimmer (or preview in Explorer) I still see 25.00 fps. Are your project properties set to PAL? I assume they are...but had to ask.

Yep - everything is set to PAL - it's weird. Along with this other Jerky prerender problem I'm having I'm starting to think an uninstall and reinstall is in order ...

The trimmer, like the rest of the app, allows you to view media files using different time display formats (which can be a double edge sword at times).

So: Load a pal clip in the trimmer, right click on one of the 3 boxes at the lower right, and select your desired time display format (in the PAL case this is "SMPTE EBU (25 fps, video)".

That's the one I was looking for :-)

Thanks
