frame size

Think I'm going to shoot myself been editing this video for the last week and got everything the way I wanted. Now it's time for the credits and WOW! : ( The video is 640 by 480 and it's already compressed and has sounds. So I choped off the last 30 seconds to make the credits. And I use the uncompressed when I save just ot have to compress it again(not cool but it's hard to tell) but for me to put them back together the frame size MUST be the same and this program keeps spitting out a frame size of 720x480 so I started reading the help files and found something about "Maintain Aspect Ratio" How do I do this? How do I make it so that it doesn't change the frame size? Please help, and I'm new to this program but learning fast so if it's cool please tell me in steps that someone at this point could understand. THANKS
I'm using 4.0 and it's a avi/divx file all I want to do is add the text. IF there's away to just add the text and direct stream copy the video and audio that would be SUPER.

I almost have tears in my eyes, after 24 hours of editing this shit I got it. NOt your way but after getting the file with vegas video I used TMPGEnc to convert it to mpg because I can fix the frame size with this video then after that I have to recompress it again with virtualDub back to avi and the right size and odd enough (maybe because it's only the credits) the screen is good.

I understand it like you have imported a 640x480 file into vegas and when you render the thing you get it as 720x480 ??? Is that what you mean?

If that's the case I guess you just haven't set the project properties right. OR you have use a template when rendering the movie and not changed the output format to the right size.

When you render you can go into "Custom" and chose the Video tab and change the size... You can then use "Project Settings" (if you have the right setting in the project properties OR you can choose a custom size...

Or did I not understand your question
