Frame size

Well we got all the footage transferred okay but now we have three different frame sizes in the preview window. The footage from the avi and DVD come out with black lines on the left and right sides where as the other footage fills the entire preview window perfectly. Is there a way to change the frame size of the file in vegas, as it is not possible to do it (so it seems) in nero before transfer eventhough we have done all the custom configs in nero. Can vegas change the frame size to make all the footage the same size.

Was all of the footage shot at the same aspect ratio?

Have you tried right clicking on the clips -> properties -> Media

and changing the aspect ratio to match what you have configured in File -> Properties -> Video?

I've had a few cases where vegas didn't recognize the aspect ratio correctly and I've had to force it to the correct PAR

qsonw is exactly right. I'm doing this now with a bunch of clips I acquired from different sources. The often have "strange" aspect ratios. Most times, when I change the aspect ratio of the clip to the DV aspect ratio of 0.9091, it looks exactly right, and renders perfectly.
