This one’s eluding me completely.
I’ve built a project using just 2 tracks. Track 2 is a static background (a .PNG) and track 1 is a video of the sun that zooms from far to near, using track motion (both tracks are 3D source alpha)
At the end of the motion, the sun image is big enough so that the top and bottom of the Sun are cut off by the top and bottom of the frame, at the top and bottom of the background .
So far, so good.
I want to render it to a small format, so I chose a WMV with these specs:
Video:30 fps, 720x480, Quality CBR. WMV V9 Compression.
It looks pretty good, but the problem is that, when the sun gets close, its top and bottom are NOT cut off by the frame at the same points as is the background. The top of the sun goes ABOVE the top of the BG, ditto for the bottom.
So I get a BG that’s smaller than the foreground.
When I render it to .avi as DV Widescreen, it looks fine, so the top and bottom of the sun are cut off at the same points as the top and bottom of the BG image.
Both are set in Pan/Crop to“Match Output Aspect,” with the frame big enough to show the full image.
The project properties are set to DV widescreen.
I am guessing that setting the wmv to 720x480 might not be compatible with Vegas’ “DV Widescreen.” But why would it constrain track 1 at a different size from Track 2?
This answer to this is probably very simple, but I’m not seeing it.
Help, please.
