Frames accross clips in HDV

I am a frustrated amateur and apologize if this post shows my inexperience but I have tried to resolve this problem and cannot find a solution. I have an HDV Sony HDR-HC7 video camera set on HD. I capture the HD video to Vegas 8c but the first frame of all clips shows in the preceeding clip. I know that I can delete it but that is time consuming. Is there a setting that I'm not aware of that might prevent this or is this a bug in Vegas 8 and it's subsequent updates. Thank you

There have been many posts here about capturing HDV with Vegas, I think its best to turn off automatic scene detection and capture the whole tape.

Then you can break that large file down and smart render sections back to HDV so you have smaller files that have exactly what you want in them-and its lossless if you don't add any transitions or effects.

Alternatively, many people here use HDVSplit for capture, which is free I believe.

I have used Premiere Pro CS3 for capture because it has a batch feature, but for some reason Vegas gets all crashy with those files.
