Frames lagging

Jody-Nasworthy wrote on 2/13/2025, 9:00 AM

I don't have the best or worst computer. I normally don't have any issues when editing video. I bought and am trying to edit an opener I bought from Vegas, and that thing runs very, very poorly! When I edit and try to watch it back, it skips dozens of frames at a time. I'm sure it has something to do with the amount of effects, but I'm not sure how to remedy the issue. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Without knowing what "opener" you bought, how many tracks, are their titles or fx, etc., it's hard to give a possible solution.

Also, what is the setting on the Preview window? And why aren't you using the latest version of VP21?

Sorry, Reyfox. I haven't updated my information. Thanks for the reminder.

@Jody-Nasworthy there is a new beta build B243 that you can download and see if that helps. You would also have to download the Deep Learning Models too. I just downloaded and installed. Installation was smooth and my last project opened automatically as it should.

Now, about your issue... how many tracks, titles, fx, and what is the Preview window set to? Sometimes, depending on what I've done and/or what effects I am using, I'll have to set Preview to Preview>Half.

But again, it depends on the media, effects, amount of tracks, etc., that will determine playback speed.

On beefy projects, I set my preview to draft-quarter. I normally keep it on best because I usually don't have issues. That opener I bought from Vegasaur is called Mosaic photo reveal. It has a lot of pictures and light effects going on. I just think my computer can't handle it.

That could possibly be so. If I overload everything on many tracks, my computer will struggle too. I will oft times render out something to see the results. That's part of editing.

Is DVD Architect around anymore? I haven't used it in a while and today I need it to burn a DVD. I can't find it anywhere and the MAGIX site doesn't have a download link. What's up? Now how do I burn a DVD the correct way? Thank you.

@Jody-Nasworthy did you look here? You'll need the version that matches your serial number:
