Framesever problems

tommy99 wrote on 8/25/2004, 12:45 PM
Is there a way to add the cinemacraft encoder to the pull down list when rendering?

I don't mind the mainconcept one but have the cinemacraft one.

Or do I have to export and then encode later. If this is the case, what is the recommended codec for this?

Should I go uncompressed? How good is the Sony YUV codec? Or should I use something else?

Thanks

No, you can't add it the list of render options, but you can frameserve to it using Satish's frameserver plugin.

Thanks for this, I installed it but can't get it to work. Don't I just render it as the frameserver, it creates an .avi file and I open cinemacraft and encode that file?

Nothing really happens in Vegas, in fact it went 7 hours last night and nothing was done. In cinemacraft I grabbed the file (18kb was all that was created) and no encoding took place.

Am I missing a step?

The framserver will create a "signpost" avi of the timeline. Nothing happens in Vegas. When the Signpost avi is completed minimize the Frameserver screen and open your encoder select the AVI and go. Your encoder should then begin to render after you have set the parameters. I have the Framserver in Vegas 5b and send everything to Procoder 2 to encode my m2v file and wav files.

Thanks for this help but am i missing something here or does this not work for me? I have also tried it on premiere and on another computer.

These are my steps:

I add my original .avi file to the timeline
I go render as DeBugmode Frameserver (*.avi) template default (no change allowed anyway)
I save the "signpost" untitled.avi to a folder
I choose YuY2 and click write audio as... (have use RGB24 as well)
by this time the window "rendering untitled.avi is increasing in time left and nothing is getting rendered
Even the frameserver status window shows video 0% realtime
I am testing on a 5 second clip

Any suggestions appreciated

Better wait for Satish to chime in here or go to the debugmode web site and post in the frameserver forum there.
