Thanks, for the push, Mike. :-)

Hi Adam,
Just installed your plug-in, tried it, but am not seeing the sample look described in the help file.

I just see a screen that has a slightly different colour, but not offset with red/blue as in the picture.

Tried both 'prime' and 'wimmer'. Followed instructions in help exactly.

I tried slipping top track a bit and it gets close.

Amazing work! Congrats!

Thx,
Tom

I've been trying my best too to push it.
Works a treat on the 3D footage I've tried it on.
I did start a thread sometime ago about a newish 3D camera. That thread had links to free sample footage from the camera. All worked as advertised in V9.
Sometime before that thread I also provided a link for people to download their free copy of what still is the bible on all things 3D. We are getting people asking about shooting 3D. We need to at least understand the technology. Ignoring the cutting edge until you are forced to deal with it is not the way to stay afloat in this game.

Tom,
here's a link to some free 3D footage. It works just fine with Vegas and the Bororo plugin:

You need to separately download the left and right eye files. Then follow the instruction for the Bororo plugin and put on your glasses.

Enjoy.

For anyone who missed it last time, link to bible on 3D:

Thanks Bob ...
I downloaded the files and strangely all I get are really great green screens .. LOL.

Both VideoInspector and GSpot show that the codec is installed.

I'm using Win 7 64 bit and the files must not be compatible with the MJPG VFW codec. They play fine in anything that uses DirectShow, but Vegas 9 and VDub display them as all green. Very odd. BTW, I have a Blackmagic Design card with the most recent codecs from BMD.

You should have two tracks overlayed on each other. One will 'appear' all green and the other will 'appear' all red. But once overlayed and seen on the preview monitor you will regain the natural color with the 3D effect.
jabloomf1230 wrote on 3/23/2010, 8:11 PM
Ah-hah! Thanks, Rob. How come they each play okay everywhere else?
farss wrote on 3/23/2010, 8:37 PM
The two files available for download should appear absolutely normal UNTIL you apply the Bororo FX in the track composite.

Sorry but yes, they will not open as is in Vegas. I recall now I had to drop them into Ppro and re-encode them to MXF. I have no clue as to why Vegas cannot display them.

I'd gladly send the playable files to anyone who wants them but how?

Bob,

Thanks. My original comment is probably correct. I can recode them here.

Jay,
I, too, have the BMD codecs (Decklink Studio) and cannot see the vids.

I recoded them with Cineform and they work fine with the 3D plugin. They're 1 GB each, so there's no practical way to post them online.

Just as an experiment sometime ago I used Borro and put the same video on two TLs and then offset by about 2/3 frames and as long as there was movement in the image a 3d image appeared

Red Prince,

Since you're the wiz who came up with this plug-in, gotta ask you a perhaps rather ignorant question...

As my recent thread on my new venture into 3D apps shows, I'm just learning, and I know the difference between what your plugin is and what I call 3D. I'm not aiming at making vids or film where one pops on them thar glasses for I'm just not that advanced nor do I have the hardware for it.

But part of me naturally caught this thread and is wondering if...

Would your plugin be a way to import stuff from a 3D program, such as an .obj or whatever else?
My uninformed guess is nyet because it's apples and oranges, but I had to ask :)

Thanks.

I downloaded the file into Media player (XP) and the Media player would not play the file, would not save the file, and would not let me move the file. Why can't I just download the file where I want it?

No, it is not for importing .obj files but for editing 3D (where you send a different image to each eye).

As for computer generated graphics (which is what .obj files are), I personally use POVRay. It does not handle .obj files directly, but there are utilities for converting .obj files to its own format. POVRay will then render them to individual bitmaps, which you can import to Vegas as an animation sequence. Additionally, there is a program called StereoPOV which lets POVRay render stereoscopic bitmaps. These can be imported to Vegas as well, and Bororo 3D will let you produce a 3D video out of that.

It is quite sad that people started referring to .obj as "3D" when all they do is something that has been called "perspective" ever since the days of the Renaissance. They use 3D vector mathematics, but they still produce 2D images.

Right-click and Save As works for me.

Red Prince,

Thanks for response to my Q. I figured this plugin wasn't for what I referred to as 3D, I.e. what I can create in Vue or DAZStudio. The .obj is only one of various export file options.
