I was reading planetquake.com & they had a news posting on a new choma key util made for editing game videos but it would come in handy with us.

http://www.bitmap.se/tga_diff.html

It's designed to take out multiple colors from the background & leave certain things in the foreground.

I haven't tried it yet (JUST downloaded it) but looks promosing for people with non-perfect green/blue screens!

This shows how to do difference masking (along with several other tricks).

If you want to do this kind of work, you can do it in Vegas without any other tools.

For machinima, one need merely use "difference" for compositing and a levels or threshold filter for the resulting mask.

SonyChaboud. Is this trick only possible on Vegas 5 or can it be done on Vegas 4e?

To do this without intermediate renders (which make the game much tougher) calls for Vegas 5.

I did a similar trick in the Vegas 2 days, but it required a lot of file-rendering.
