I found a 4"x6" advertisement in my VMSP-8 box that referred us to www.sonycreativesoftware.com\freedomfx. However, I don't know if the compositing mattes were a free-bee. Hope that helps. Good luck.
PS: The back of my box states "Includes bonus software and extras worth $200". One of the free-bee's was "over 20 DirectX audio effects".

Hello Fish Finder:

Humm ???? When I go to the site provided on the advertisement it sends me over to http://www.freedomfx.com/?keycode=7055
But for the life of me I can't find any reference to 20 free mattes & tutorial on this new link.

I inserted my VMSP-8 disc into the drive, then, selected Browse Disk. I see a folder entitled "Content". Open Content and you'll find another folder called Freedom FX. I think that is where you'll find your free-bees.
Good Luck Fish Finder

Fish Finder,

A quick search led me to this thread I started, which also has a pointer to their web site with update usage instructions (the ones on the content CD did not apply to Vegas Movie Studio at the time.
