Playing timeline clips from an external hard drive in VMSP 8c, I get intermittent freeze frames which are different every time... same in preview despite what the settings are. I've tried many fixes but to no avail. The drive is a WD 2TB My Book at 7200rpm with 16MB cache.

Using the same gear in VMSP 7 there is no trouble, any clues as to where/what might be wrong in 8c. Thx.
