Freezing

I just recently bought Sonic Foundry's VideoFactory 2.0, and I am very satisfied with it so far (being an ex-Ulead VideoStudio user) except for two things:

1) When I am trying to insert text, and I click on the "placement" tab of the title menu, I immediatly get a blue screen and can do nothing except a hard restart. It happens every time.

2) This one is a minor inconvenience, but I just wondered if there was something simple I could do to fix it; when I go to File -> Capture Video (or hit the button above the media pool) I get a message that says "The specified video capture application can not be opened" and it gives the (correct) path to the file. It does the same thing when I try to open an audio clip in my specified audio editor.

I can still capture video by opening up the application seperatly, so there is no loss of functionality, I just can't open it directly from VideoFactory. Like I said, it's just a minor annoyance. Anyone have similar problems?

Disable hardware accelleration in your video display card, or at least back it off from full. This almost always fixes it.

That stopped the lock-ups, thank you very much. There seems to be a good community here, people are wiling to help and there's not a bunch of jerks or anything. I appreciate your help.
