Fresh installation - directly from update?

Hi,

I decided to swap os (from XP x64 to Vista X64). So I formatted my C-drive (no other options avail...blaah)...

Is the 8.0b downloadable upgrade a complete installation of Vegas Pro (with all codecs etc included)?

Or do I have to first install 8.0 from the CDROM and then installe the upgrade 8.0b?

Sorry, this might be a subject discussed before, but a fast search did not give any results. Neither could I find this info explicitly in the dowload instructions at SCS...

Christian

EDIT: Is the same true also for DVDA and Cinescore?

You can install fresh using the latest downloads.

THX John :)

Apprecated, as always!

Interesting to soon see how VP8 runs on my Vista 64 bit machine... Well, you should not fix what ain't broken, my VP installation on XP x64 worked smoothlessly. The only reason to switch was to get my bly-ray burner to work with other software than just the bundled ones. And I'm now prepared for the upcoming (!) 64 bit version of Vegas. Wonder when that happens...

regards,

Christian

I just did exactly that yesterday on my new Vista 64 machine. Took all of 8 minutes to put in VV8B and DVDA5 including registration online with my new machine. Sweet!. Now fighting how to SF8 on. Other threads.

I hope that you found that the Blu-Ray burner works fine under Vista 64. Didn't get around to testing it when I promised, but I ran a test burn today after moving the burner across, and it worked like a charm.

I figure you're talking about the LG burner which works with no issues under Vista64. Check your services though. The software includes a litghtScribe routine that installs and gets turned on to automatic. If you're like me then LightScribe is a waste of time and a useless service to leave running.
