from trial to full version install

I have been using the trial version 8 for about 3 weeks now for our broadcast. I finally recieved the boxed version 8 to install.
Should I remove the trial, then install the boxed version?
Do I just install over the trial?
Is the boxed version any different, should I just enter the serial?

If you want to uninstall and reinstall you can. You might simply want to go to Help - Enter Your Serial Number... though.

Leave the boxed version in its box - pristine and unopened. Just enter the seriel number and activate.

It's also quite possible that the trial version is newer than what's on the CD in the box. It's amost certainly not going to be older. So by that rationale you're much better off using the trial version with your serial number than installing the boxed version.

I wouldn't have used the CD, but on the Sony site, there is a trial version, and a version that isn't a trial. Do you know what the difference is?

For now I think I will just enter in the serial, and then wait 'til the first update.

The trial will run in trial mode. The other one requests the serial number immediately.
