I was perusing the Frontier TranzPort support forum when I came across this interesting post from a couple of months ago:
It seems most DAW host apps (SONAR, Nuendo, SX, Audition, SAW Studio, DP4, Logic, Reason, etc....) already have host specific plugins available, I've been wondering if Sony is going to get involved with plugins for Vegas, ACID and maybe Sound Forge. For those of you that are not familiar with the TranzPort:

I just purchased a TranzPort (which I am currently using with SONAR and it's associated plugin) and I must say it is one of the best and most affordable DAW investments, I have ever made. Every serious DAW user will want one of these babies.
With the TranzPorts unique bi-directional wireless communication and programability you can easily playback, record & mix projects, in different environments( vocal booth, a separate live room on another floor or even your couch). A sophisticated programmable controller that fits in the palm, of your hands. You are not tied to your workstation. You can even use it for live performance. Great for
working with laptops, as well.
You can have limited use of the TranzPort via it's Cubase(Mackie EMU) mode and selecting the Mackie controller, in Vegas. But it really only works with basic transport functions and as a one-way communicator to Vegas. What we need is an actual Vegas specific TranzPort plugin (like the rest of the DAW market already has) that is tailored to the strengths and uniqueness, of Vegas and gives bi-directional communication between the TranzPort & Vegas. Like track name, volume level, pan position, now time (in either M:B:T, H:M:S:F or Samples) and even volume meters, for the selected track, in realtime. I do think this is something that Vegas, ACID and even Sound Forge should support. When most competing products already have working host specific plugins available, it seems to be a competitive disadvantage, not to be compatible, as well, IMHO. The lack of plugin
support, for any Sony software products, is quite depressing.
