Fun new free midi creation tool: Wolfram tone

This should be going into the audio forums, obviously, but first let's pass on the fun to us musically challenged video folks:

http://tones.wolfram.com/generate/. Or just click here.

I had to tweak my quicktime settings to get it to work. Follow the "can't get it to play" link if nothing happens.

FWIW, Wolfram is an acknowledged world-class arrogant you-know-what physicist, who, if he is wrong is the greatest thing since Godel, and if he is right is the greatest thing since Newton. (And yes I did intentionally skip Einstein.) On the side, he did create Mathematica, and apparently he likes music too.

I've had a full 5 min to play with this tool, so I've yet to check out the details. Cool stuff for sure, though. Now, how can I generate something longer than a few seconds...?

Ok, its not free because they want $2 just to download it as a crummy phone tone. But for those who can do something with a midi file, from http://slashdot.org/comments.pl?sid=161774&cid=13526444

In Firefox:
1. Go to Tools.
2. Page Info.
3. Media.
4. Click on the link whose type is "Embed"
5. Click "Save As..."

Grazie, if you're still playing with this stuff, you might be interested in a "lower-level" programmer's tool as well. http://www-128.ibm.com/developerworks/java/library/j-camusic/
Have to do some java programming, though.
