this has happened quite a few times today (and yes, i've rebooted, etc.,)
tl has one hdv interview clip and an assortment of jpg, png's.
1st problem is occasional crashes AFTER closing - error report sent automatically.
2nd i have 14 of these 'clips' to do, so having finished one i click new and open the next (all the interviews are precut, this 'second' opening is to drop in the stills). more often than not the tl loads correctly, but i have the thumbnails from the previous interview in the project media window. timeline plays fine. to stop this happening i simply close vegas and open it again (as has been suggested with all 'replaced' media prolems.
HOWEVER, i have a memory 'clearing' script ( %windir%\system32\rundll32.exe advapi32.dll,ProcessIdleTasks ) that i needed for another problem i was having with an old graphics prog. if i run this BEFORE opening the new project (veg) i DON'T have any thumbnail problems.
i have no idea what's going on, but it's working so far.
i probably wouldn't have used vegas if it wasn't for cs6 not installing on the pc in the first place ;-( that said, doing this work is a breeze in vegas.
can't live with it, can't live without it......
