Future Feature

Hello everyone,

I use version 16 Pro and I love the floating panels, very useful indeed.

I wonder if I could suggest another one with just the video controls in it, for a future release.

I do a lot of close work and use three large monitors, usually with the timeline section to the left and the video monitor to the right. The centre screen I use for the various effects and masks I make. I spend a lot of time mousing to the video controls either in the timeline section of the video monitor to the right maybe just to move one or two frames.

A floating panel with all the video controls which you could move about would be ideal for me. I would also like to see some more controls added:

move to beginning of the current clip

move to beginning of the current clip and play

a skip through key to play the clip skipping a definable number of frames for a quick review. (and combinations of the two keys above).

The panel would need to have an option to be 'always on top'.

Fixing the anomaly where the timeline control 'move to the right' (and left) only allows one frame per click but on the monitor control it allows multiple if you hold the either key down would also be good.

Before any jumps on this, I know about keyboard shortcuts, but you have to click on the timeline from the effect to get it to work. Once you return to the effect it turns it off again.

Please let me know your thoughts

kind regards

Doug W.

This doesn't relate directly to your suggestion, but have you checked out Vegasaur? It has a lot of One Click commands that might improve your workflow. I put off buying it for the longest time, but now I have it, I see Vegas in a whole new light.
