Future of Movie Studio Platinum on Steam platform

Hello,

I'm a regular user of Vegas products since 1.0 and really like what they do well. Quite a while ago I jumped the gun and aquired Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 13 on the Steam platform (x64 on Win7 x64). Automatic updates are a good thing for a video hobbyist like me.

Can someone from support or this forum tell me what's going to happen to the Steam-powered version of Movie Studio Platinum 13 ? I sure hope I get the same upgrade/crossgrade options as users of the non-Steam versions.

My professional focus is sound editing, design and mixing in post production, which I work on mostly with Reaper and a little Protools.

Questions about future developements:

Will redefinable keyboard shortcuts be coming to a near-future version of Movie Studio Platinum ?

I ask because the German keyboard forces me to user two hands to trim clips on the timeline, which is left-ALT+[ and left-ALT + ]. I can't use the right-hand ALT key for this as it doesn't work for that shortcut, and changing the keyboard for the application every time is cumbersome. I use several other applications at the same time.

Overall I'd welcome redefinable keyboard shortcuts anyway. Movie Studio Platinum is probably one of the last applications that doesn't allow this. Even Audacity allows for remapping the keyboard. One of the few applications that has this limitation as well is Avid Protools, which I wouldn't gloat about. All the video editors I've tried let you remap the keyboard if you wish, but I do like using Movie Studio Platinum for almost every other reason.

I still enjoy using the software a lot and look forward to what you ladies and gents come with for the next version.

Thanks.

So, Vegas Movie Studio 14 is out now.

Can I be included on some kind of mailing list when users of the STEAM version of Movie Studio 13 Platinum are able to upgrade to v14 ?

I hope it's soon. I'm seeing good stuff in v14 and am actually interested in upgrading to the v14 Suite of Movie Studio from v13 Platinum.
