Fx bypassed preview

airport wrote on 1/4/2016, 3:46 PM
Something has gone haywire with the preview screen in my Vegas pro 13. I cannot turn off the fx bypassed item. If I select right half I only get that half of the picture the other side is black, and vice Versace. If I select clipboard I get the effect on one side and totally black on the other. Select all in clipboard is totally black.select all in fx bypassed shows the original image. This all used to work. What have I bumped into to mess it up?

Could be video card driver update. Post your systems specs and try turning off GPU acceleration.

Turning off gpu acceleration brought back the split screen, thanks. Does that mean gpu acceleration doesn't work entirely or just affecting this? I have Windows 10. Nvidias latest driver

Can't say without your system specs. Depending on your video, the latest driver may not be the best.

Sorry to say but the GPU acceleration is causing lots of trouble for many users in split screen preview when enabling the FX. I get black screens, jumping video (both temporal AND positional errors), you name it.

GPU acceleration is dysfunctional in VP 13 and will never get fixed. You just have to live with it - disable GPU rendering...

Needless to say, its a HUGE disappointment that SCS never got it fixed. At least not very professional behavior from their side.

Cheers,

Christian

I use Vegas Pro 8, so your screen may be slightly different. But in your Preview window, look for an icon in the upper left that, if you hover over it, says "Split Screen View". It should be just to the left of the down arrow where you choose "FX Bypassed" and those other options.

Click on the "Split Screen View" icon. I suspect you accidentally turned split screen view ON. Clicking the icon will turn it OFF.

See if that solves your problem.

Argghh . ..

Same here: "GPU acceleration is dysfunctional in VP 13 and will never get fixed. You just have to live with it - disable GPU rendering..."

No Split Screen anymore. Working with GPU-on in VP12, no problem.
