FX defaults...

Not a big deal, but why is this?

Everytime I drag a new video into the timeline, the audio track defaults with compression, noise gate and "something else, I forgot".

Can I make the new audio track default without ANY FX settings whatsoever?

Yes. Set up what defaults you want, choose your own effects and settings or none at all. Right-mouse-button-click on the track header and select "Set default track properties" from the popup menu. In the dialog window that appears choose Track FX and anything else you want set as new defaults. Click OK.
