Better still FXs controlled by envelopes rather than keyframes, then
you can automate the whole process.
You can sort of, kind of fudge it almost, using an opacity envelope but it's pretty lame compared to what you could do with envelopes.
Bob.
Bob, can you imagine being able to "tap" markers out to the beat, and then select one or a series of Fxs to be sprinkled to the markers? - Just blows me away!
. .and better, BETTER still have the envelopes controlled by a Joy stick that in turn is latched to the track automation function .. . .wooooaahhh . .. !
Guess I'll just have to make do with the new series of Dr Who instead - eh?
Not sure it covers what you want but I remember there is an audio plugin which provides a similar feature. It creates keyframes on audio peaks and you can copy and paste the keyframes from an audio to a video track. I must have this plugin anywhere on my system - gimme a while ...
well what gets to me is that u can automate surround pans and it "records" the keys as u move the cursor..
why cant we have a "record keyframes" option in the filters that use pointers too, like cookie cutter and light rays etc.. ??
then have a "smoothness option like particle illusion which interpolates smoothness of ur motion to however u want it??
I mean i dont see why it cant.. and i been askin for this for about 3 yrs now.. lol
You've reached the same impasse as I did quite some time ago!
Worse still it means you cannot use automation and control surfaces to control video events either, apart from opacity that is.
I did pose the question as to why audio uses envelopes and video uses keyframes and never the twain shall meet and the answer seems to be, ah well, hm, history?
Grazie,
with the process being discussed here, you don't need to add markers, a few simple audio fxs on the audio track and you can write an envelope that tracks the beat, now isn't that neat?
"you can write an envelope that tracks the beat, . . Then you copy the envelope to a video track....." how do you get envel to vidtrack . .anyway, and then what do you do? Seems like hard work to me, and missing a step. I saw the CAT stuff and wondered how the Fxs "latch" onto the POINTS. Do you know how? Do you know how the vid fx knows about vid points?
Still kinda like the simplicity of taping markers. This ways one could use the markers to lay-down stills, using the the StillsToMarkers script - yeah?
