The set up: 8mm deck, plugged into PD150 via SVHS. PD150 firewired into computer.
The task: capture 8mm tape into DVD Workshop.
The problem: I could see the output from the 8mm deck on the computer monitor. Every time I click the "Record" icon, however, the screen goes blank.
Reaction: Much muttering, and occasional outbursts of comments such as "Gracious sakes, I have a malfunction" or words to that effect. (Wife leaves area.)
Solution: Remove the tape that had been inadvertently left in the PD150.
The moral: PD150 won't allow pass through if there is a tape in the camera. Seems obvious, but worth checking next time monitor goes blank.
