gagging PC

PC is is a 2.4 real intel chip with 512 RAM. RAM checks out as fine. SCSI media drive. 100 gig program drive with only 7 gigs used. Windows 2000, service pack 4. Video card is a Radeon 700. Vegas opens any of twelve small, five minute projects and after a couple of minutes locks up. The only way to preview is first pre-render. Could it be the Radeon card? All advice welcomed.

Check your CPU/MB temp. that is usually the problem with lock ups. What's your MB? I don't think it's the video card. Does it only freeze with one of those 12 projects? Did oyu try making another project? Could be a bad clip in the project (i had Vegas freeze because of this for a couple days. I thought something was wrong with the PC. The nI tried playing each clip in Media Player and one was bad! Captured wrong!)

CPU/MB = chip and motherboard temp, right? I am not up on PC technical nomenclature. Just checksed all the fans, they are working. Not sure what make motherboard is.

I pulled the side panels off and directed a fan at the box. We'll see what happens next.
