Gain control within an Audio Event

Is it possible to make mulitple gain adjustments within V5 to a single audio event? I want to adjust audio volume within a song to increase and decrease volume as someone is talking on a separate audio track. I don't want to split the song at each occurance because that creates an envelope handle which either creates a sudden shift in gain, or a fade in or fade out point. That wouldn't be so bad, except it fades to/from zero gain. What I'm hoping is that V5 has something similar to the way Studio 8/9 (PinnacleSys) handles volume changes. Those programs create points on a volume/gain line which can be manipulated to increase/decrease volume gradually, without going to zero gain. Any help, please?

Gain? Or volume control?....To control volume, just select the track, press "V" or Insert> Volume Envelope.
then double click to set envelope points/nodes, and adjust away.

Besides using a volume envelope as Spot describes, you can also adjust the volume in relation to the narration automatically by using the Voice-Over Wizard in Excalibur 4.

There is a free 15-day trial at www.VegasTainingAndTools.com

I've recently just done a "long-form" - well long for me! - V/O against a complex audio/music track using Excalibur4. It did it in less than a second. get the demo and see for yourself!

Grazie

Spot, thank you. Exactly what I was looking for.
(and to think I read the manual). Gary, Grazie, I'll check out Excalibur 4 also. Appreciate the help, all.
