gaps between still photos

I just moved from the old Screenblast Movie Studio to Vegas and there are some simple little things I haven't figured out yet.

When I select a whole bunch of still photos from the media window and drag them up to the timeline all at once, they show up with two photos side by side, then a small gap, then 2 more, small gap, two more, gap, etc. I turned off snapping, assuming that somehow the photos were automatically being snapped to something on the timeline, but that doesn't solve the problem.

Any idea why this is happening? I just need all the photos to show up side by side, otherwise I'm having to manually drag them together and there are over 100 of them!

Thanks in advance.

Those are just the timeline picons. if you zoom in on the timeline, you'll see MORE of them, if you zoom out, you'll see FEWER. When looking at pictures, the images will be the same. When looking at video, the images will change to be reflective of that point of the video.

That is to say there actually isn't a gap between the photos. Play the time line and you will see.
