Gearshift audio idea

When I'm using gearshift, if I work on the audio of a proxy, loading it into Soundforge from the Vegas timeline, normalize, denoise, and send it back to Vegas, when I switch gears back for rendering, the audio goes back to the original unfixed state of the original M2T file. How about an option in Gearshift to switch back just the video and leave the proxy audio in place?

that should be fine theoretically I would think - can't imagine that rendering an MP3 to .wav would cause much of a degridation in quality, if any. but what do I know about audio - Maybe it would - good idea if you ask me though.

What GearShift is actually doing is replacing the MEDIA in the media pool. It never touches an event on the timeline and has no idea what you did with any audio takes. What you are seeing is just how Vegas behaves. To work around this behavior, GearShift would have to start scanning events for Takes and replace the audio takes after we Shift Gears. Cool feature! I’ve added this to my list of future enhancements. Thanks,

I love this whole thing of suggesting improvements and having them implemented! Thanks JR. If you add this particular improvement, I will be using it all the time!
