Gearshift improvement for slow processors?

I find myself using a combination of Gearshift and changing the project properties from HDV to DV resolution when working with M2T files on my lowly P4 3.06 system. This works quite well but requires constant adjusting of the properties. It seems to me that if Gearshift included an option to change the project properties to DV widescreen resolution and back again to HDV when "shifting gears", that that would allow for smoother editing on humble systems like mine.

Excellent suggestion. It’s now on my list. ;-)

Good thing you're not here. I'd be tempted to kiss you ;-)

My last remaining request for Gearshift would be a shorter name prefix. Something like "GSP-" instead of "GSProxy-". The reason is that my workflow is turning out to be:

1/ Convert to GS proxies.
2/ Work with these proxies all the way to finished SD DVD.
3/ Go back to original files after project is done to render HD version for my own records.

Until some form of HD delivery is available to small scale people like me, this is how I expect to continue to work. A shorter "GSP prefix would be more convenient.
