Geat freeware program; Indiana Jones style map

I can't remember if I posted this before but if you're ever interested in doing one of those Indiana Jones style maps where you see the animated airplane flying over a map of the country...

Route Generator will do this for you.

The last time I used it the avi converter wasn't working that well but they seem to have come out with an update;

Yeah... it's a great little program I've used in my travel videos as well. Although the previous version (the one I used) had trouble with converting the finished work to avi (it exports a whole pile of bmp's of your work and then uses a bmp to avi converter which wasn't working at the time). I ended up drawing out my work and then using Camtasia to do a screen capture of the route while on play back in Route Gen. (I haven't tried the updated version yet but they claim it has been repaired).

The whole thing came out pretty good in the end regardless. I used a map of the area in question that was downloaded from mapquest and imported it to photoshop where I made it look old (tatters and rips... yellowing...etc)... then imported that to Route Generator.

Yeah, a straight line would be a good feature to have.

first thing I thought about when I read this post. :) FYI, it doesn't lime my 8.1mp jpeg images. ;)
