There's not much on the web about that error, but it might involve connecting a scanner to a printer port. Is that a possibility?

Ian,

I use Plaxtor digital video converter.

Should that be Plextor? Either way, I'm afraid I don't know anything about that device! Can you tell us what you're doing, or trying to do, when it goes wrong - some info about your PC might help as well.

I use Windows XP Professional. Service Pack 2.

Plextor is an analog to digital converter. And it connects to the USB post.
You may use it with analog devices such as VCRs and analog camcorders.

I use WIN DVD Creator software and the Pleastor converter works just fine with it.
And I am able to capture from any analog devices with WIN DVD Creator.

It tells me that the Plextor communicates with my PC. I use the latest driver for it.

Thanks!!!

OK, thanks for that, but what are you trying to do when it goes wrong? From the error message it looks like you're trying to use the "Get Photo" button, rather than VidCap.

Hi,

When I’ll come home today from work, I tell you exactly what happening when I use VidCap.

Thanks for you assistance, I appreciate it.

When I press on “Video Capture” and select (X)Use external video capture application,
I get this first message first “Please connect a device” and then in a second another message” Preview is turned off”
Thanks!!!

I don't understand that - I'm still using MS4 and VidCap doesn't seem to have that option - sorry!
