General Vegas Pro 22 Complaints

I'm adapting to Pro 22, but I'm having a tough time with a few of the features (or lack thereof). If anyone has any slick workarounds for any of these I'm all ears.

1) In my explorer window I wish I could use the keyboard to jump to files. For example, if I click 'R' it will take the highlighted item to the first file beginning with 'R.' This used to be possible before version 22.

2) When I click and drag a file from the explorer window to the timeline, sometimes Vegas thinks I selected the file underneath the file I actually selected. Big pain in the butt.

3) I have a large folder will numerous files for sound effects I use on a regular basis. The more this folder grows, the longer it takes to update and load. It's getting unbearable.

4) I have to manually update the explorer window when I add files to the folders. Older versions of VEGAS would periodically update these lists automatically. How can I get 22 to do that as well?

Any thoughts?

  1. VEGAS Pro 21/22 has a "new" explorer window. That functionality is not in this new explorer. If you go to Options - Preferences - Deprecated Features, the "legacy Explorer" is still available there.
  2. I've seen similar things too. If you use the "+" when you hover over the file name, it will add it on the selected track at the cursor location. I've also seen that "slowing down" can also help
  3. Not seen a real issue here.
  4. Yes, if you make changes in the folder, you have to hit "Refresh" to see the new files or remove deleted files from showing.
