generated media choppy

Hi all,

I have a transition segment with a generated background and the overlying text that starts as a pinpoint and expands at you on the screen (using the text editor). However, on previewing and after rendering, it's choppy -- not smooth at all. Any suggestions why? It's not moving that fast, and the background isn't complicated.

thanks,

todd

Shouldn't be choppy. Rendering to NTSC-DV? Or uncompressed? Tried resampling?
Is the text movement coming from track motion or keyframes in the text tool? Keyframes in the text tool don't work well, I recommend using track motion or pan/crop for move text about the screen.

I recomend the same thing. I've tried keyframing text and sometimes it workes, other times not (not as much control as pan/crop or track motion).

Ahh, indeed, this may be the issue. I am using the keyframes to do it. I open up the video media generator: sonic foundry text and then under properties, use the tracking and scaling to get it to expand from one keyframe to another. Is there a way to try and compensate for that without going back and redoing the segments another way? Can I get the text to start as a pinpoint and then expand outward with track motion?
