In Sony MS Platinum, can the default length for generated media be changed, and if so, how?

(Thanks to a post I just found in the Vegas forum -- which points out that one can easily control the length of inserted generated media by creating a time selection and then right-mousing -> insert media -- I now realize setting the default length isn't such an important feature. But I'm still curious.)
