Generating Tone on the timeline.

I know it's possible to generate color bars and tone when printing to DV tape. Is it possible to generate tone within Vegas in such a way that it can be placed on the time line -- no color bars, just tone before printing to tape?

We could output tone to tape, then bring it back in as a wav file and save it, but that seems like a work around. Because of the layout of our studio it would be very convenient to be able to lay in 10 seconds of tone at a couple of points on the time line to aid in duplication.

An audio editor like Sound Forge or Cool Edit will produce a tone, or there may be a downloadable one somewhere ....

Thanks Peter.

I've got Cool Edit and never thought of it! Should work fine.

Yes, I still love the "old" CE2000, even though I've had Sound Forge 6 for 6 months. Familiarity I guess.
