Get VV to read Alpha Channel without parent/child?

I create a graphic in AE and it has no background, I render with alpha..

Shouldnt i be able to drag that into VV and have VV show only the graphic and not a black Background?

Im doing it with photoshop files , why not AE?

Are you rendering to an uncompressed format? From what I understand, alpha channels are retained on AVI's only when uncompressed.

If it's a movie you render to uncompressed, then in the clip properties you change alpha channel to...normal or something. Vegas isn't accesible to me currently so i can't tell you exactly. You'll figure it out i'm sure.

Another alternative is to render your project as a tga or png sequence with alpha channel, much like Digital juice Jumpbacks.
