Get VV to read RM files with loading all of Real

How can I get VV to recognise and decode real media files with out loading the complete real software etc.
Real takes over your machine and I don't want this, however I often get some aviation RM files sent to me and I would like to use them in my Vegas projects.

Any help would be appreciated!

I don't think Real allows the decoding of RM files for video editing. in a pinch you might be able to find a utility to convert it to something else. or you could record the video as it plays into an AVI format using a screen recorder program. there was a post up here today listing a whole bunch of Camtasia-esque programs.

There are several little utilites that can convert RM to AVI which is the only way to get a Real Media file into Vegas Video directly. They at best work sporadically. Tinra is probably the best of breed and it isn't much only working sometimes and then if it does convert it sometimes don't do a very good job. Alright if you're really desperate to get at a RM file.
