Getting Audio from Video file/event

Ok so I have these video events that are from video files with audio. I deleted the audio events that go with the video and now (much later in the game) I want some of them back. So I'm wondering, is there a way to highlight the video event and tell Vegas, "Hey, Vegas, I want the audio from that video file that goes with this event."

While your question is vague, are the clips still in the media pool? Taking a stab at it you can right-click the clip in media pool > Open in Trimmer. Both video and audio will be in the trimmer. You have several choices as to how depending on your audio tracks as to how to get the audio back to the timeline.

The easiest of which may be, depending on how you cut your clips, is to right-click in the trimmer window > Select Audio only and either left drag below the corresponding video or right drag to the corresponding audio track and add as take.

Again your question is so vague it's not possible to give a step by step answer.

I believe I have done this before. And if you're like me, any event on the timline is most likely not beginning-to-end, but a piece of the original. I double-click the event, then right-click and choose Open in Trimmer. It does so with the highlight exactly as it is on the event. R-Click, drag under/over the event in the timeline, choose Audio Only.

Ah ha I did try to open it in the trimmer again but what I didn't double click the event to highlight it first. Thanks Todd.

This is exactly what Excalibur's Orphan Wizard does.
