Getting standard selection tool back

I was working on a project last night & somehow go the scene selection tool turned on & it would not turn off. By this I mean the tool that allows you to draw a box around an area to select that area & has a small rectangular box at the lext side of cursor. No matter what I did I could not get the regular scene selection tool back. I eventually opened a second copy of Vegas & copyied everything into it & this allowed me to get any tool I wanted. Is this a bug or did I do something wrong?

I"m not at my editing computer, but I think there's a selection -- an icon -- on the tool bar that sets the cursor back to "normal."

Press CTRL+D and you'll have it back. It might be off your toolbar, you can always add it back by doubleclicking the toolbar and finding it/reinserting it.
