Getting This Error Often

Weird deal.

When I go to playback from timeline I get a pop-up error :

" An error occurred while starting playback.
The device specified is in use. "

Basicly have to close and re-open Vegas to get it to playback again. I can see video while scrubbing the timeline, only when I hit the spacebar or hit the play button does the error come up. Happens even if I dont have " Preview on external monitor " on.

Anyone ?

Have you tried a fresh install? Sometimes you get one of those bugs that ticks your system just the right way at just the right time...I've sometimes had to just re-do the works to get rid of it.

Is there sound in the project? That error is common when you have two apps. trying to access the sound drivers at the same time often when both are set to use ASIO or if each are set to different sample rates.

Yes there is sound in the project, but don't have anything else going. As for ASIO and sample rates, aint got a clue. It has around 25 - 30 takes from a shoot for a music vid pluse the extrated wav from the cd for the master sound.
