Getting weird results importing videos from youtub

I'm finding it a real hit and miss when I try and download videos from youtube and import them into Vegas to edit. I'm getting intense flickering and weird greens and digitization of the videos. It looks like the resolutions of the videos might have something to do with this problem, but seems to me in the past I've worked with multiple resolutions at the sametime without ever having a problem.

I've done this sort of thing before on Vegas Pro (demo version) and now I own Vegas Platinum and I'm having difficulty. I don't imagine it's because of the change of versions of Vegas, but maybe someone knows for sure.

If anyone has any suggestions it would be much appreciated.

I get the green flash at the beginning of the video when rendered from Vegas, however this is not visible when watching in the timeline. This is video downloaded from You Tube. The same green mess also shows at the start of any high quality stuff that i have put onto You Tube, and was rendered from Vegas.

That visual description fits also a Windows (or was it Adobe's Flash code?) problem that was making the rounds maybe 2-3 years ago. Are you up-to-date with all Windows components?

so then I should be able to use any formats together at the same time?

YouTube videos are optimized for playback only, they are not intended for editing.
