Hello Got2Go:

I'm not sure I have an answer for you . . . you might try a few of the brightness and contrast effects to see if you can lighten the scene and enhance the contrast so your "ghost" will be more visible.

Typically shots at night will be grainy unless shot with night settings, so you may not have much to work with unless you had some light on the subject.

Hope that helps.

Color curves is probably a more useful tool. It starts with two control points, one at the bottom and one at the top of the brightness curve. Lift the "handle" attached to the upper point and all the highlights are smoothly brightened without losing the blacks. If the lower handle and the shadows are smoothly brightened.

However, as Kimberly points out, dark video has very little detail to begin with so don't expect miracles. You'll end up with very sketchy, grainy images with a big loss of smooth gradation. If you can't see whatever it is in the original video, you won't see it after lightening it. You might make whatever's there look a little better, but you won't bring out details that don't exist.
