Ghosting in videos

I believe that's how you call it. My videos in vegas are leaving a trail behind.
The thing is, it's never done that before so I don't know how to fix it. The original video plays fine, but as soon as I put it in, it ghosts.

I've been playing with both the file's and the project's properties and nothing is working.

The weird thing is, I have some other footage from the same scene, in the same project that doesn't ghost. So it's just random files that pick out to do this.

If anyone have a solution to have my videos playing right, please help. Thanks

Do your source file frame rates match your output file frame rates?

If you will take the time to investigate this, I sense you may find a solution.

Try this: Right-click on the 'ghostly' video events and select 'disable resampling'.

I tried it, didn't change a thing. I'm not getting this, the files usually work fine. All of them are from my hard drive camera so they're all the same thing. In windows media player, it plays fine. But as soon as I put it an editing software, it ghosts and it looks just ugly.

Is it possible that some kind of video effect was introduced when you first started editing of these particular video files? And then it's set so every time you run VMS, it's there by default. Check to make sure that you have no unwanted video effects installed on the any of the video tracks.

That's pretty normal with AVCHD material.

ok I played around some settings and it's working. not really sure what I did, but I'll find out and post the solution on here. thanks all of you

What did you find out. I have a great video sample of ghosting with fast flying swallows. It's on my CarolJWright YouTube channel, a test of the Lumix DMC-ZS3 720 p video mode

Someone suggested trying to shoot in the .mov format instead of ACVHD...and someone else suggested the re sampling solution, which I have not tried yet and do not really understand what it is...I too am new to Vegas, so don't know if I did something wrong somewhere along the line, and might not know what I did RIGHT to correct it, either! ;-)
