I think I'd prefer Magix to offer me an upgrade that had the ability to read acid files. Working on something that is a large score with Midi, MP3, and WAV files with lots of effects you can hit the ceiling in AP7. So I've been testing DAW samplea (Reaper is nice but would cost to get virtual instruments - a lot in fact), so I decided to test Simplitude Music Studio (64 bit) an entry level DAW (IMHO very powerful for $100). I do a lot of midi stuff and is it so easy to work with. Its only been a couple of days, but I think I would gladly upgrade to Simplitude for a reasonable upgrade price if it could read Acid projects.
For a small shop who wants to produce original music (stage keyboard with sounds and acting like a midi controller) I like this product better than AC7 and Music Studio is just the consumer version. Seems like they could build an Acid project reader for a lot less than rebuilding acid, and a Simplitude Vegas suite would be a very powerful set of tools.
Anyone else thing this would be the way to go?
