Glitch when printing to tape

Hi everybody,

I have tried to print a few times but there is a random glitch in which the audio and video stutter. Just to check, I copyed the video as an .mpg to a cd and watched it. The glitch was not on the CD so I believe it to be a tape problem possibly.

the last time I printed to tape I only had one glitch that removed a word from a narration.

I've been up all night trying to finish so I might not be exlpaining this completly. ;)

If you need more info, let me know.

Dell 4550 (6 months old)
Windows XP

200 gig storage

printing to:
GL1
XL1

Takk,
Jason

1. Make certain your PC has nothing extraneous runing in the background eg email, antivirus stuff.
2. If 1) doesn't help try defrag of drive.
3. Render project to new AVI file and print from that, there is no quality loss doing this.
4. I've found one annoying glitch during print to tape. When going out via a DtoA device there's a major sync loss at the switch from leader black to program start and the same reversed at program end. I can get around this by adding say 30secs black at start / end of program and having VV add no leader/trailer. Problem doesn't occur during print to DV tape. Not exactly a show stopper but an annoyance.

Been there. Can be very frustrating and difficult to track. Are you printing from timeline? Anyhow, check this out for starters.
